On Friday evening, we took the kids to the Ostrich Festival. Although it was WAY overpriced, we had a great time. Nothing like good, family fun. I did remember, however, I terrified I was of Ferris Wheels. I am pretty sure at one point, Stella was comforting me. Letting me know that everything was going to be okay.
Brian had to work on Saturday, so I decided to take the kids to the Aviation show at one of the smaller airports in the area. Briggs is fascinated with airplanes right now and I knew this would be right up his alley.
Our first stop, when we got in, was to get a couple snow cones. While waiting in line, we happen to meet up with a couple of Stella's friends. The girls had a great time walking around looking at the airplanes together. They were even lucky enough to be able to get inside of a couple.
On Sunday, we met up with some of our close friends and tailgated at the new Cubs stadium. We arrived at nine o'clock and spent the morning grilling out, playing beer pong, and enjoying each other's company. The new Cubs stadium has this amazing park attached. It has a great splash pad and a really cool playground. It is perfect for the kids to go play at and kind of break up the monotony of the morning. When it came time for the actually game, I decided that I was going to stay out in the parking lot and put Briggs down for a nap. I was able to sell my ticket and make a few bucks in the process. Win-win, if you ask me!
Now that the weather is so nice, we are looking forward to a lot more days outside.
