Rockin' R Ranch

This past month, Stella learned about Cowboys and Rodeos at school.  To culminate the unit, the kids took a field trip to the Rockin' R Ranch.  

They started out the field trip with a little show.  The kids loved hearing all the cowboys songs.  At one point, they even brought the teachers on stage to demonstrated their roping skills.

 

After the show, we wend outside, where the kids were also able to practice their roping skills.  With a little help, Stella actually did a really good job.

 

We were able to belly up to the "bar" and sit on saddle stools. 

And even had a chance to pan for gold.  One little girl, was lucky enough to bring 3 pieces of gold home.  She was so excited.

Finally, the kids learned a little Arizona and Indian history. 

The kids had a really great time and learned a lot too.
