Celebrating Mimi

For the past few month, I have been contemplating on how I wanted to celebrate Mom's birthday.  It is so important to me that Stella and Briggs remember who she is.  Stella and I talk to her before bed, we tell her good night, that we love her and miss her!

I decided that we were going to celebrate Mimi's birthday by allowing the kids to make a picture to her and send the picture to Heaven with balloons.  I decided to send out an email to mom's family and friends letting them know how we were celebrating and seeing if they wanted to participate.

The kids letting off their ballons

I'm not going to lie, that day was hard. Each time someone sent me a picture of them sending balloons to mom, I watched with tears in my eyes. But it was all worth it, as I laid in bed with Stella and showed her all the "Celebrations of Mimi" that took place throughout the day!  She kept saying, "Mimi would have liked that balloon." Or "Mimi has lots of people who loved her." Yes, Stellie, Yes she did!!!

Superstitions Farm Field Trip

One of the things that I love about Stella's preschool is that they take field trips that include the whole family.  This past week, Stella's class set out for a local dairy farm.
We took this picture for Pops

The field trip was broke into three separate stations.  The first station was helping the farmers feed the animals.

Stella even got to hold a chicken...

Although Briggs wanted NOTHING to do with holding the chicken, he didn't mind the chicks.

With all the exciting animals, Briggs was most fascinated with...
the pet dog, go figure!

The second station was the milk bar.  Here each kid was able to choose from a variety of different flavor milk.  Stella choose orange and Briggs got banana.

The final station, was a hay rack ride through the farm.  Here we got an up-close and personal view of all the animals... One would think this would be a great part of a dairy farm field to take pictures.  And looking back on it, they would be right.

Overall it was a really enjoyable field trip.  The kids had fun and learned a lot too.

Happy Birthday Mimi

Happy Birthday Mom!!!

As I sat here at my computer tonight trying to decide on the perfect picture to use to "Celebrate Mimi" this month, I couldn't decide on just one.  Mom had so many wonderful friends and family in her life and I know that that each and every one of them will be celebrating Mimi today.

Mom, there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about you, talk to you and wish you were here.  But I know in my heart that you hear us, every night, when Stella and I sing to you and tell you good night,

10 pictures on the 10th day of the month!
{Document a snapshot of your life & find beauty among the ordinary things in your day!}

Just a another example of how much Briggs loves shoes... at least these are his dad's shoes and not the everyday heels that he likes to sport.

Stella's pre-school class had a field trip to a local dairy farm.  We got to smell see A LOT of cows.  We were able to feed some goats, take a hayrack ride through the farm, and even try different flavor milk at the "milk bar."

The other really really neat thing about the farm is that they make their own ice cream.  Stella's flavor of choice was Cotton Candy.

I'm not going to lie, I may have a slight addiction to these salads.  Artichokes, roasted red peppers, and pre-made... I have had one for lunch everyday for the past two weeks.  Let's just hope Costco can keep them in stock.

Briggs is just finishing week 2 of ISR swim lessons.  He LOVES the water.  I see a lot of pool time in our future.

And this is the reason why.... It IS HOT, already :-(.  This is karma for me not having enough sympathy for the cold weather my Midwestern families and friends dealt with this winter.

The Easter banner that I made for the kitchen.  This is by far my favorite that I have made.

Stella has really been into sending pictures in the mail to her friends and family.  Pops, Grandma Sue-Sue, Ella, Elizabeth and Grant should be looking in the mailbox for a special surprise in the next few days.

A manicure to end the night.  I am happy to report, Miss Stella is getting better in her nail painting skills ;-)

Brandon and Alison got me a fit bit for Christmas, basically it is a really fancy pedometer.   Your goal should be to walk 10,000 steps a day... mission accomplished.
