Happy Valentine's Day Recap

We had such a fun Valentine's Day this year.

I think having kids make you love holidays so much more.
It is amazing to experience things through their eyes!

Valentine's "Day" was actually a week long affair.

We started on Monday, by having Stella's BFF, Ella, over to make Valentine's Day treats.
Obviously, one must dress up like a princess in order to do this.

All I can say is YUM, YUM, YUM!!

On Wednesday, Stella's friend, Bode, invited us over to decorate more cookies.

Stella was very meticulous in decorating her cookies, while Briggs just wanted to eat his.

Here is a picture of Bode, Stella, Brock and Briggs (pay not attention to lack of pants :-)

Thursday was Stella's Valentine's Day party at school.

I had been looking for a while for good ideas of what we could make for her friends.  We decided on this..."You are the Sprinkles to my Cupcake"
Stella filled out all her own valentines.  It took a few days to get them all done, but I think she did a fantastic job :-)
Who doesn't love cupcakes, and pink zebra cupcake at that?

The kids, once again decorated cookies and then got to play a few games.
She had a really nice time.

On Valentine's Day morning, we woke up to a wonderful surprise from daddy.

He had gotten the kids a card, stuffed animals and candy hearts.  And I got beautiful flowers.

We made heart pancakes for breakfast.

And had a heart pizza for dinner.

And just when we thought Valentine's Day couldn't get any better, we received a very special from Aunt Sandy on Saturday morning.

Unscripted Weekend

I don't know why, but it seems like the weeks are just flying by. We have been so crazy the last few months and this was our first weekend, I think since November that we had absolutely nothing planned... and it was Ah-Ma-Zing!!  We really need to start making no plan weekends.

On Saturday morning, Brian left bright and early to head into work.  Gotta love busy season.  The kids and I hung around the house and finished up some crafting projects I've been working on.  I promised myself I would not open my new cameo until my half-finished project were complete.

After the kids naps, we decided to head to the zoo because the weather was so nice.  On the way there, I thought I'd call Brian and see if he wanted to skip out of work a little early and go with us. To my surprise, he said yes!!

We fed the Stingrays,

watched the giraffes,

rode a camel,

and even threw ourselves down on the ground when we didn't get out way.

No seriously, we had a great time. The zoo closed at 5:00 and about then we were heading to see the lions and tigers. We were lucky to be there right at feeding time. The kids really enjoyed watching them eat.  It is amazing to go to the zoo with Stella now because she has begun to become so inquisitive.  It is fun to watch her mind work and listen to ALL her questions.

Stella has been asking to go on a bike ride for a while now. So this morning, we decided to head out to a new park we found awhile ago. It's a little big for Briggs, but he was able to figure it out.

After the park, we rode our bikes to the grocery store to get the ingredients to make our first batch of homemade ravioli.   Brian asked for a pasta maker for his birthday, and Aunt Sandy bought us a ravioli maker when she was out here to visit.
Brian reading recipe, trying to figure out where to even begin.

After five hours of really hard work, we had successfully made...

Six Raviolis!!!

Well on the bright side, we still have quite a bit of filling left over so hopefully we will try again soon.

This picture really does not even do the mess justice... But man those six raviolis were well worth it.

Anyway, after we go the mess cleaned up and the kids put in bed, I was finally able to open my cameo and begin playing around with it.

I am so excited to really dive in and learn about all the cool things I can do with this baby.

We had such a great weekend. What's better than great weather and some quality family time.
